Kidney Stones and Ricebird Homecoming

Last Tuesday I went to the ER AGAIN. This time...Kidney Stones. I love being pregnant and knowing that there is going to be a precious life at the end of it but it is really starting to bring me down. I don't know if I can take much more pain. The pain of a kidney stone is no joke. Trust me, I have never had one before and I DONT EVER WANT ONE AGAIN!!! I imagine labor to be much easier than that! Good news is that I am feeling great as of right now and am really chomping at the bit to get Brogan's room completed.
On a side note, Gere marched in his first parade this last weekend. It was the Homecoming Parade in Stuttgart. He did so good and I am so proud of him! He is an excellent Drummer!!!

28 Weeks and Counting

So I am 28 weeks pregnant and doing great. The only issue I seem to be having right now is Gestational Diabetes which I have an appt. with a Dietician on Monday to see about controlling. Brogan's room is coming along nicely. My mom, dad, and stepmom came a few weeks ago and painted and started putting up the bead board. They are coming back this weekend to finish. I am extremely excited about this. I will be in Memphis while they are here, so I get to come home to a finished bed room which pumps me up! Bucher and I are going to see my favorite band Wilco. The crib came in yesterday but we can't set it up until the room is finished.
We have taken two classes so far...Child Birth and Infant/Child CPR and have two more coming up within the next two weeks...Breastfeeding and Infant care. So far they have been very informative and I am looking forward to the others to come.
My mom is getting married next Thursday. I am very happy for her as she has been waiting for Mr. right for a long time and I think she finally found him! Welcome to the family Dave. I will post some pics. as soon as I get some!
I think that's it for now but there is so much that is going to be happening in the next few weeks, that I can't stay away too long.

Here a few before pics. of Brogan's Room

And here are few pics. of the partially finished room ( The pics. didn't turn out very well but you get the idea).

Gallstones

This past friday I woke up with a pain like no other. I went to work thinking it would go away but it never did. I have experienced this pain twice before, once in august 07 and once in august 08. Both times I have gone to the ER and been given pain medicine and sent home with no real diagnosis. This time, being pregnant, I thought I better go to the ER and find out once and for all what was going on in my belly. I arrived at the ER at 9 a.m. I was immediately sent to the Labor and Delivery unit b/c I am 25 weeks pregnant. They put me in a room and monitored the baby for about an hour with no pain relief. I threw up three times while in L & D due to pain. They found that everything was fine with the baby so they sent me back down to the ER. At this point it is about 10:30 and I still have no pain relief. I was put in a room very quickly and I was there for a while when a student came in and asked me a series of questions, which I have already answered about three times already for different people, again! Then a nurse comes in and gives me a "GI Concoction", Mallox and Lidocaine, this was meant to numb the pain but did nothing but numb my tongue. Finally a DR. came in and decided he could give me some Dilaudid and that they would be doing an EKG, drawing some blood and getting an ultrasound of my gallbladder. Finally about 12:30ish I had some pain relief. They did all the above tests that were normal except for the ultrasound. I had Gallstones, and lots of them apparently. The good news was that there was no infection and no obstruction. Dr. Taylor my OB Dr. decided they should admit me for pain control and a surgical consult. So about 5 pm after a day in the ER and minimal pain relief I am moved to L&D again to stay the night. I was going to be put on a PCA pain pump and they were going to monitor the baby for the evening. After three hours of being in the room with no pain relief again, I finally got that pain pump. Needless to say, I awoke to no pain and to a surgeon saying I would need to wait until after Baby Brogan is born to have my gallbladder removed. I was released on a no spicy/no fried food diet, which is probably a good thing. I am much better and am hoping that I don't have another episode before I can get this thing removed. On another note, Brogan is great...she is kicking and moving more than ever and I love that!!! We also got her fabric in and are getting ready to pick out the paint and get started on her room. This, I can't wait for! It is going to be precious!!!

Cookies

I seem to have a sweet tooth for warm chocolate chip cookies or oreos and milk. In fact I am about to get up and make some cookies right now but thought I needed to add a quick update for all my blogging buddies. Brogan is moving like crazy these days and what makes me the most sad is that Bucher can't feel her like I can...He can feel her but not as well. I guess the further along I get the more he will be able to feel her. I feel great...I am having some indigestion issues but other than that this pregnancy thing has been pretty easy. I am definitely the one that all the others hate. We are looking forward to the Razorback game this Saturday. A little tailgating never hurt anyone! Go Hogs! P.S. I am loving this weather!!! I hope it sticks around for awhile!!!

New Beginnings

So it has been awhile, to say the least. We bought a new house and now we are having a baby! Pretty big news if you ask me! We are really really excited about both of these new ventures in our lives! We are having a little girl and I am due on Dec. 24th. Her name is Brogan Lane Bucher. My cousin in Texas has a friend named Brogan and we just really liked that name. Especially b/c it is so different. We are working on planning her room right now. I am having a really hard time with it b/c i want it to be as cute as it can be! If you know me, then you know I am anal about these things and this decision is a hard one. We registered yesterday at Babies-R-Us. It was fun picking out all the cute little things. We just can't wait to meet her.
